Reminder: 3 Excise Tax Return Periods in September!

If you are an alcohol or tobacco excise taxpayer who files semi-monthly returns, don't forget that there is an extra return period in September.

If you are required to pay your taxes by electronic funds transfer (EFT), please pay close attention to the last two September filings - your return periods are slightly different than non-EFT filers and you have three extra days to file one return.

TTB Annual Satisfaction Survey Closing Soon

The 2024 TTB Customer Satisfaction Survey is closing soon, and we want to hear from you! Please be sure to help shape TTB's services by participating in our 2024 survey before it closes on October 9. Invitations for the survey (hosted on SurveyMonkey) were sent via email. If you received an invitation, please tell us about your experiences with TTB so we can make improvements that matter to you.

The survey should take less than 10 minutes, participation is voluntary, and your responses will remain anonymous.

ACTION: Notice; request for public comment

SUMMARY: This notice informs the public that the United States Federal Government is initiating the co-creation process for its 6th U.S. Open Government National Action Plan. The GSA is inviting input from a wide and diverse array of stakeholders from the public, private, advocacy, not-for-profit, and philanthropic sectors, including State, local, Tribal, and territorial governments. This Request for Information (RFI) aims to gather ideas, suggestions, and recommendations for commitments that could be included in the 6th U.S. Open Government National Action Plan.

DATES: Responses to this Request for Information should be received by Tuesday, November 12, 2024.

ACTION: Notification of availability

SUMMARY: The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is announcing the availability of a final guidance for industry entitled ''Enforcement Policy for Required Warnings for Cigarette Packages and Advertisements.'' This guidance describes FDA's enforcement policy for the final rule, ''Tobacco Products; Required Warnings for Cigarette Packages and Advertisements,'' which established new required cigarette health warnings for cigarette packages and advertisements. The guidance is intended to assist entities required to comply with the rule.

DATES: The announcement of the guidance is published in the Federal Register on September 13, 2024.
