July 2024 APA Board Meeting Preliminary Agenda

RAY BROOK, NY - The Adirondack Park Agency (APA) will hold its monthly meeting on Thursday, July 11th, 2024. The meeting will be held at the Agency's headquarters in Ray Brook, NY. The public is welcome to attend in person or remotely.

Public comment will be available to members of the public who attend the Agency meeting in person as well as those who participate remotely. If you would like the opportunity to make a public comment remotely, please email your name and the phone number used to call into the Board Meeting to [email protected]. Those who sign up for public comment will be limited to three minutes each. Public comment will not be accepted on any agenda items that are before the Board.

On Thursday at 9:30 a.m., the Full Agency will convene for Executive Director Barbara Rice's monthly report, public comment, and other procedural actions.

At 10:00 a.m., the Park Policy and Planning Committee will hear a presentation from Leslie Karasin, Adirondack Program Director for the Northern Forest Center, about efforts to recruit and retain young people to Adirondack communities, including the approach the Northern Forest Center is using to develop new housing in several Adirondack hamlets.

At 11:00 a.m., the Regulatory Programs Committee will consider an application for the development of a 10MW-AC community solar generation facility, which includes a fixed-tilt, ground-mounted solar array with two separately fenced areas. The project site is in the vicinity of Vineyard Road and Pearl Street in the Town of Crown Point.

At 1:30 p.m., the Park Ecology Committee will hear a presentation from Steve Hurst, NYS DEC Chief of Fisheries, about a new draft Adirondack Brook Trout Pond Plan that will be released for public comment later this summer. The plan will serve as a conservation roadmap for the next 15 years to help preserve and protect populations of this iconic species of fish, which is an integral part of the Adirondack Park's natural heritage.

At 2:30 p.m., the Full Agency will convene to take any necessary actions.
