Fatal Hit-and-Run Involving a Pedestrian

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department's South Traffic Division detectives are investigating a fatal hit-and-run traffic collision that killed a pedestrian.

On June 19, 2024, around 11:10 p.m., the suspect's vehicle; described as a dark-color SUV, was traveling eastbound on Martin Luther King Boulevard towards Budlong Avenue, when it collided with a pedestrian who was standing in the middle of the road. The force of the collision caused the victim to then collide with the roadway. The suspect continued driving eastbound on Martin Luther King Boulevard to southbound Walton Avenue without stopping to identify themselves or render aid as required by law.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and transported the victim to a local hospital, however, despite live saving efforts, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
