Austin Installs 'Butterfly Rest Stop' Aerial Sculpture

FRISCO, TX - Austin Commercial successfully installed "Butterfly Rest Stop," a mesmerizing aerial sculpture by renowned artist Janet Echelman, at Kaleidoscope Park in HALL Park, Frisco, TX. This dynamic installation, inspired by the intricate role of butterflies and pollinators, features two floating, five-petaled forms designed to resemble milkweed flowers, crucial for Monarch butterflies. The artwork, spanning 165 feet in length and supported by a complex network of braided fibers, underscores the interconnectedness of nature and humanity.

The company offers its thanks to Austin Commercial employee-owners, as well as partners Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM), OJB Landscape Architecture, SERCO CONSTRUCTION GROUP, LTD., Milestone Metals, INC., and the City of Frisco for their collaboration on this project. The installation will officially open in October 2024.
