City invites input on Map survey, La Perle and Belmead Neighbourhood Renewal and Priority Growth Areas

The City of Edmonton invites residents' input into projects, policies and initiatives that grow communities, establish government services and prepare the city for the future. Below are current opportunities for Edmontonians to shape their city.

Changing neighbourhoods to meet changing needs:

  • Vision Zero Street Lab McKernan.McKernan Vision Zero Street Lab is in the "Evaluate" phase where the City gathers feedback from residents in McKernan about the adaptable measures that were installed to improve road safety in the neighbourhood. Share lived experiences with the new Vision Zero Street Lab by visiting edmonton.ca/StreetLabs to complete the survey by November 5.
  • Vision Zero Street Lab Northmount.The City is gathering feedback from residents in Northmount about the Vision Zero Street Lab installed in July 2024 to improve road safety in the neighbourhood. Share lived experiences with the new adaptable measures by visiting edmonton.ca/StreetLabs to complete the survey by November 15.
  • Jackson Heights Street Lab.The City of Edmonton is exploring a Vision Zero Street Lab in the Jackson Heights neighbourhood. Residents are invited to attend an in-person engagement event on November 5 from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. at Burnewood Community League. Visit edmonton.ca/StreetLabs to share input until November 25.
  • Glenwood West (163 Street West).The City of Edmonton invites residents to provide feedback on the final draft design for Neighbourhood and Alley Renewal in Glenwood West. An online survey is available until November 18. Meet the project team (drop-in) on Tuesday, November 5 from 6 - 8 p.m. at Glenwood Community League, 16430 97 Avenue NW. Visit edmonton.ca/BuildingGlenwoodWest to learn more and share input.
  • La Perle and Belmead Neighbourhood Renewal.The City of Edmonton invites community members to share feedback on the draft design Neighbourhood and Alley Renewal in La Perle and Belmead. Meet the project team at drop-in events on Thursday, November 14 from 6 - 8 p.m. at La Perle Community League, 18611 97a Avenue NW or Saturday, November 23 from 1 - 3 p.m. at Belmead Community League, 9109 182 Street NW. Defining what Edmonton will look like in the future:

  • Civic Engagement: Connecting With Under-heard Communities.The City of Edmonton invites feedback on improving the City's communication and public engagement with under-heard communities. Visit edmonton.ca/surveys until December 18 to provide feedback.
  • Industrial, Commercial and Institutional Sectors Waste Survey.The City of Edmonton seeks feedback from Industrial, Commercial and Institutional (ICI) sectors to establish an understanding of current waste practices in those sectors, and what organizations may already be doing to reduce waste and encourage a circular economy. ICI sector leaders and operators can visit edmonton.ca/NonResidentialWaste to complete the survey by November 6.
  • Map survey:The City of Edmonton is looking to improve its Open Data, map-based website, maps.edmonton.ca. The interactive web map includes different search capabilities to help find information on properties, amenities and land areas. Visit edmonton.ca/surveys to provide your input until November 6.
  • Priority Growth Area Rezoning.Share thoughts to help confirm which sites are selected for targeted, City-led rezoning in five key main street and urban centre areas before the City Council Public Hearing in 2025. The proposed rezonings are intended to encourage more housing opportunities and business investment in important areas. Visit edmonton.ca/PriorityGrowthAreaRezoning to get involved until November 24.

Ensuring safe communities:

  • Home Fire Safety Assessment online survey.Edmonton Fire Rescue Services is calling on Edmontonians to discover the many ways they can best practice fire safety. Visit edmonton.ca/HomeFireSafety to take Edmonton's home fire safety assessment.
