Welcome to the LBPD Blotter!

As part of our ongoing commitment to external communications and providing valuable information to our community, the Department posts preliminary information about incidents that occurred the previous evening, including shootings and stabbings, as well as any other LBPD updates to the Department's homepage and on the "News" tab of the Department's website. This page will be updated as new incidents occur.
Here's a recap of incidents occurring last night:

  • Hit Shooting - South Street and Paramount Boulevard - On Oct. 27, 2024 at approximately 1:02 a.m., officers responded to a local hospital regarding a shooting victim. The preliminary investigation indicates a male adult victim was standing near the intersection of South Street and Paramount Boulevard at approximately 9:00 p.m., when he was shot in the lower body by an unknown suspect(s). About four hours later, the victim self-transported to a local hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the lower body following the incident. The suspect(s) fled the scene prior to officers' arrival. Suspect(s) information and the motive for the shooting are under investigation.

Great work officers! Last night, officers safely took a gun off the streets.
  • On Oct. 26, 2024 at approximately 6:43 p.m., officers were conducting a patrol check near the 2100 block of East Ocean Boulevard. During their patrol check, officers located an occupied vehicle from a previous incident and conducted a stop. During their investigation, officers recovered a firearm. The passenger, who was determined to be prohibited possessor, was arrested. The investigation is ongoing.
