Accton initiates PCR testing for all employees

According to figures released by the government, Accton Technology added 28 confirmed cases on June 10th, of which 27 were foreign employees and 1 was a Taiwanese employee. The cumulative number of confirmed cases was 41, including 37 foreign employees and 4 Taiwanese employees. Accton Technology stated that most of the confirmed cases were those employees who were included in the initial stage of screening and isolation of high-risk cases. Although there are still a few cases still under testing and evaluation, the overall epidemic risk should be under control. In order to prevent the epidemic more effectively, Accton decided to conduct PCR testing on all personnel at the Zhunan plant.

Accton originally took the initiative to expand the scope of PCR testing from June 7th. Even if employees were previously negative for antigen rapid screening, they still provided PCR testing for them. In the afternoon of June 9th, preventive PCR testing was completed at the Zhunan plant, and a total 151 people were tested.

Accton stated that a PCR test for all employees at the Zhunan plant will be conducted next week, which is estimated to be completed within one day.
The second PCR test for all employees will be conducted depending on the overall status, with the aim of minimizing the risk of possible employee infections.

Accton further emphasized that the current initiatives, such as comprehensive antigen screening, PCR testing for all employees, and the management of foreign employees are planned to reduce the risk of immediate epidemic transmission in the first phase. The next phase is to ensure employees are safe and less worried. Therefore, Accton will launch regular rolling quick screenings for all employees in the future and provide quick screening tests for employee family members living with them, so as to further expand Accton's epidemic prevention network to employees' families.

The Accton Zhunan Plant completed all antigen rapid screening in the morning of the 9th, and Accton Hsinchu Plant also conducted the screening tests on the 9th. The number of people screened in a single day on the 9th was 619. The results of the rapid screening were all negative. On June 10th, 465 people were quickly screened, all negative. It is expected that 265 people will be screened on the 11th.

Considering the rapid changes in the epidemic, Accton has also re-adjusted and planned the accommodation environment for foreign employees, reducing the number of people living in each dormitory and reducing the number of shared bathroom facilities, in addition to the continuous implementation of the simultaneous division of factory dormitories.

Although the screening of foreign employees has been completed, Accton continues to strictly control the risks by suspending foreign employees from working in the factory and rearranging dorms, allowing employees to first conduct health management in their residences, and then arranging them to return to work after health assessments.

In addition, on June 10 Accton also released a major message to explain the epidemic situation and its impact on operations. The current preliminary assessment shows that the overall production capacity has not been affected. However, June output is estimated to have a 10% impact, while the impact on June revenue will be about 5%.
