Tomorrow at 5:30 p.m., the Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, and Cardinal Matteo Zuppi, President of the Italian Bishops' Conference, will open a conference at the Farnesina, entitled "Political Love as an Instrument of Peace and Democracy". Organised by Ente Nazionale per il Microcredito, the event will be attended by journalist and professor of Vatican geopolitics Piero Schiavazzi and Mario Baccini, President of Ente Nazionale per il Microcredito.
The conference intends to explore the connection between peace, democracy and unity, understood as harmony in interpersonal relations, in line with the Church's social doctrine and the vision of a system of international relations based on unity among people, on the common good and on overcoming inequalities.
The event will be an opportunity to reaffirm Italy's commitment to the promotion of freedom of religion and belief at the international and multilateral level, the importance of interreligious dialogue as an instrument of peace and diplomacy, and the strengthening of Italian capacities in the field of peace mediation, also in the light of the proliferation of armed conflicts and the crisis of multilateral institutions.
