Property owners who were severely affected by last year's storms in Auckland should register to get a risk category for their property. If your property is high risk, you may be eligible for financial support.
The deadline for registrations is 30 September 2024.
If your residential property was badly affected by the Auckland Anniversary floods in January 2023 or Cyclone Gabrielle in February 2023, here's a quick checklist to determine if you should complete the registration form:

Did your property experience above floor/significant flooding during the 2023 severe weather events? | |
Was your property affected by a landslide as a result of these extreme weather events? |
If you answered YES to any of the above we encourage you to complete the registration form.
If you answered NO to all three questions you may not be eligible for funding but may find these resources helpful to prepare your home for flooding or reduce the risk of landslides.
This one-page factsheet will help you understand the risk category process.
Translated factsheets are available in simplified Chinese, Hindi, Korean, Samoan, Tongan and Te Reo. You can find these on the storm recovery documents page under 'translated categorisation factsheets'.
If you register before 30 September 2024, we will start a risk assessment process which will tell you:
