Article 4 Recount Results

Pursuant to 30-A MRS §2532, a recount of the ballots from the November 5, 2024 Special Town Meeting election for Article 4 - LUO Amendment - Cruise Ship Disembarkation was held Saturday, November 23, 2024.

The recount was requested by Bar Harbor voters, Kevin DesVeaux, official representative. Peter Scott was the official representative of voters opposing the recount.

The recount was conducted in accordance with 30-A MRS §2532. No payment was required of the group requesting the recount as there is less than two percent difference between the "no" and "yes" votes in the official tabulation for Article 4, as a percentage of the total votes.

The Town Clerk publicly explained the procedure at the start of the recount and supervised the sorting and hand counting of the votes in public with assistants appointed by the Clerk. Mr. DesVeaux and Mr. Scott appointed counters to conduct the recount under the supervision of the Clerk's staff.
