Bakersfield College Set To Welcome Back Students for Fall 2024 Semester

As the summer heat starts to subside, Bakersfield College is excited to welcome back students for the Fall 2024 semester. The official first day of instruction is Saturday, August 24th for weekend courses, and Monday, August 26th for weekday courses. There will be several opportunities for new and returning students to get involved and find community through a series of 'Welcome Week' events and activities during the first two weeks of the semester.
The Welcome Week events include an ice cream social, an afternoon of board games and video games, a karaoke night, paint n' sip, welcome tents with free coffee and donuts, and much more! The Welcome Week events will conclude with the Student Involvement Festival on Thursday, September 5th at 9:00AM at the Renegade Crossroads. This unique event provides students with an invaluable opportunity to connect with peers, explore campus programs, and learn more about becoming active members of BC and the surrounding community. Last year's festival was attended by more than 8,000 students and featured more than 80 local businesses and organizations. BC is also excited to welcome back Renegade Football. The season will kick off on Saturday, September 7th, 5:00PM at BC's Memorial Stadium as our team takes on Golden West. There will be five home games this season, including the annual Homecoming Game on Saturday, October 19th, which will feature special homecoming activities for students and alumni. BC is thrilled to launch a new academic year, and we are excited to welcome students back to our various campuses.
