NRCC Statement on FL-27 Primary Election

August 20, 2024

WASHINGTON - The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) released the following statement on Florida's 27th congressional district primary election:

"Lucia Báez-Geller leaves the primary baggage-laden and broke. Báez-Geller's woke agenda on the Miami-Dade County School Board is toxic for Florida voters. Republicans are eager to remind voters that Congresswoman Maria Salazar is a fighter for commonsense immigration policies, she never shies away from tackling socialism head-on, and she is a fighter who delivers for Miami-Dade families." - NRCC Spokeswoman Delanie Bomar

Background:

  • FL-27 is considered a "Likely Republican" seat.
  • Congresswoman Salazar won by 15 points in 2022.
  • Miami-Dade has heavily trended toward Republicans in recent cycles.
  • There are 154% more registered Republican Hispanic voters in Miami-Dade than Hispanic Democrats.
