Major Road Closures Affecting City Routes

[AUGUSTA, GA, - October 3, 2024] - Augusta, Georgia Government will temporarily close two roads, 13th Street at Jones Street and Wylds Rd, for infrastructure improvements.

Starting Monday, October 28th, the intersection of 13th Street & Jones Street will be closed for brick crosswalk installation. This intersection will be closed for approximately two weeks. Traffic coming over the Savannah River bridge from North Augusta will need to detour left or right at Reynolds Street. Detours will be in place. Expect heavy delays while traveling through this area. Using alternate routes is recommended.

Wylds Road between the Augusta Mall and North Leg Road will be closed at the railroad tracks for repairs starting Tuesday, October 29th. The repairs should take approximately one week to complete. A detour will be in place for the closure. Motorists should expect traffic delays in this area.
