40 Under 40: Olivia Rulin Zhang

Olivia Rulin Zhang is an assurance senior manager at BDO USA P.C., one of the nation's largest accounting services firms, where she conducts audits for both private and public clients.

Rulin Zhang manages over 20 projects annually and performs program-specific audits for nonprofit organizations with federal grants of up to $150 million and employment benefit plan audits with net assets of up to $1.4 billion.

In addition, she is a national and international music competition winner and an award-winning Erhu (Chinese violin) musician. In 2023, she performed solo with the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra at Powell Hall for "Music Without Boundaries" education concerts. This concert was the Erhu debut on the SLSO stage, marking a historic moment in the organization's history.
