Cass Clay Food Partners to Host Food Forest Event at MB Johnson Park

The Cass Clay Food Partners, a metro-wide food policy council, is hosting a free family event, celebrating the harvest season and connecting the community with local food.

The Cass Clay Food Partners, a metro-wide food policy council, is hosting a free family event, celebrating the harvest season and connecting the community with local food. Community members are invited to join the Food Partners on Monday, September 9, from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., for guided tours of MB Johnson Park's Food Forest, learn about urban harvesting, participate in engaging activities and discover the work of the Cass Clay Food Partners. The event will also include a variety of booths and vendors, samples prepared with local food and a plant medicine walk.

"We (the Cass Clay Food Partners) are excited to host this family-friendly event as part of Greater Moorhead Days," said Noelle Harden, member of the Cass Clay Food Partners. "The Food Forest at MB Johnson Park is a creative way to meet multiple community needs at once by providing access to fresh fruit for community members, supporting pollinators, and creating a resilient and multifunctional landscape at one of our treasured city parks."

The Cass Clay Food Partners will also be at the Red River Market Community Booth on Saturday, September 7, from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. The community is invited to visit the Food Partners and learn how to get more involved with the local food system, play trivia and win prizes.

Additionally, the Cass Clay Food Commission will meet on Wednesday, September 11 from 10:30 a.m. - noon within the Fargo City Commission Chambers, located at 225, 4th Street North, Fargo. Community members are encouraged to join and learn about current food policy work happening in the community and connect with locally elected leaders. • Open house style from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
• Food Forest Tours will take place at 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
• A Plant Medicine Tour will take place at 6:15 p.m.
• A food demonstration with samples will take place at 5:00 p.m.
