Lincoln University Welcomes New Assistant Deans in Student Affairs

Cornelius Brownlee (left) and Issac Bivins Jr. (right) join Lincoln University of Missouri as new assistant deans, bringing valuable experience to student conduct and engagement.

Lincoln University of Missouri has announced the appointment of two new leaders in student affairs - Cornelius Brownlee, M.S., Ed.S., as assistant dean of student conduct and community standards, and Issac Bivins Jr., MHED, as assistant dean of student engagement.

Brownlee brings over 15 years of experience in higher education and human resources, having held significant leadership roles at institutions such as Tennessee State University, Broward College, Palm Beach County Government and Miami-Dade County Government. Most recently, as executive director of equity and inclusion at Tennessee State University, Brownlee managed a $2.3 million budget, led Title IX and Title VI compliance and spearheaded diversity and inclusion initiatives. His academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership with a focus on human resource development from Florida Atlantic University, an Ed.S. in the same field, a master's degree in integrated marketing and management communication and a bachelor's degree in rehabilitation counseling from Florida State University. Brownlee's comprehensive experience is further supported by his EEOC Investigator Training and certifications as a Title IX Coordinator and DEI Practitioner.

Bivins is an advocate for student engagement and success, with an educational foundation in social work and higher education administration. Bivins holds a Bachelor of Science in social work from Jarvis Christian University, a Master of Higher Education Administration from Southern New Hampshire University and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education in leadership and higher education at St. Edward's University. In his previous role as assistant director for alumni affairs at Jarvis Christian University, Bivins was instrumental in enhancing alumni relations, developing recruitment strategies and organizing impactful events. His prior experience includes serving as a case manager coordinator for Communities In Schools and a behavior resource specialist for Texas ACE, where he effectively supported student retention, behavior improvement and academic guidance.

With the addition of Brownlee and Bivins, Lincoln University is poised to further enhance its commitment to student success, engagement and community standards.
