City launches Downtown, Old Colorado City parking and curbside community survey

The City of Colorado Springs is looking for feedback from residents, businesses, and visitors to help better manage parking and the curbside in two areas of Colorado Springs with diverse needs - Downtown and Old Colorado City.

Residents, businesses, and visitors are encouraged to fill out a survey to tell the City about their experiences with parking in these areas, along with the issues they encounter and how they would like to see it managed better. The survey includes an interactive map to identify any locations in these areas where the parking and traveling public face parking or curbside challenges or see opportunities to improve. Survey responses will be used by City staff to help craft the City's Parking and Curb Management Plan.

The curbside, also known as the curb lane, is valuable public space can be used for many purposes, including loading and unloading, bus stops, parking, passenger pick-up and drop-off, bicycling, and other uses like bike and scooter parking and outdoor dining. Curbside space in Downtown and Old Colorado City is in high demand from many people, businesses, and groups. In addition, off-street parking in lots and garages plays a key role in the parking system in these areas.

The survey can be accessed at ColoradoSprings.gov/2024ParkingPlan.

The survey will close on August 28. Individuals can also sign up for a newsletter to stay up to date on the City's Parking and Curb Management Plan and future community engagement opportunities.
