Baldwin Brings Home Over $41 Million to Support Wisconsin Farmers’ Conservation Efforts

WISCONSIN - U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) announced she delivered more than $41 million to support Wisconsin farmers' conservation and sustainability efforts, grow the agricultural economy, and tackle climate change.

"Many of our farmers are leading the way with conservation practices and this investment doubles down on them by providing the tools and resources they need to expand these sustainable practices and boost their bottom lines," said Senator Baldwin. "I am proud to bring home this funding that will help strengthen our agricultural community, combat climate change, and ensure farming will continue to be an economic powerhouse across our state."

The funding comes from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP), funded in part by the Baldwin-backed Inflation Reduction Act.

The following projects received funding:

Midwest Greener Future: $21,242,000 to address the three primary sources of greenhouse gases tied to dairy production and improve water quality using cover crops, reduced tillage, no-till, conservation crop rotation, feed management, and waste separation.

Milwaukee River Basin Conservation Partnership: $19,882,000 to address climate resiliency, soil health, water quality, and the farming economy by supporting landowners and producers across the rural-urban Milwaukee River Basin in Southeastern Wisconsin.
