The Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber launches $835,000 in funding opportunities for Good Jobs Challenge
Grants available to North Dakota and Minnesota organizations to tackle workforce challenges
Fargo, N.D. (July 30, 2024) - The Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber has five Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO)/Requests for Proposals (RFPs) available from its Ignite Initiative's Good Jobs Challenge program.
Competitive proposals are being sought to assist in the implementation of the Good Jobs Challenge across diverse populations, regions and communities. These subawards will help address hiring needs of employers and common workforce barriers. They will support the main objective of upskilling 900 individuals from historically underserved populations - including New Americans, Justice Involved, Veterans or Active Service Members, People of Color, Indigenous, Black, Women in Technology, High School Students - and helping them secure good jobs.
Details of the NOFO/RFPs:
1. Good Jobs Challenge Ignite Microgrant subaward
Description: The Microgrant subaward program supports quick organizational capacity-building within organizations with innovative programming that meets critical workforce needs within childcare, transportation and English learning support services.
Funding Amount: $5,000
Anticipated Number of Awards: Seven
2. Good Jobs Challenge Ignite Community Promoter subaward
Description: The Community Promoter subaward program supports organizational capacity building and innovative plans to meet critical workforce needs within the targeted demographic populations and support career exploration.
Funding Amount: $15,000
Anticipated Number of Awards: 14
3. Good Jobs Challenge Ignite Uplift subaward
Description: The Uplift sub-award program is designed to support organizational capacity building and implement innovative plans to meet critical workforce needs within the targeted populations.
Funding Amount: $25,000
Anticipated Number of Awards: 10
4. Good Jobs Challenge Regional Amplifier subaward
Description: The Amplifier subaward program supports organizational capacity building and plans to meet critical workforce needs within a specific geographic region outside of Cass County, North Dakota and Clay County, Minnesota.
Funding Amount: $50,000
Anticipated Number of Awards: Five
5. Good Jobs Challenge Ignite Fair Chance Futures subaward
Description: The Good Jobs Challenge Ignite Fair Chance Futures sub-award grant program supports organizational capacity building and innovative plans to meet critical workforce needs within the justice-involved population. Justice-involved populations are individuals who are currently, or have spent time, in jail, correctional facilities, or prison - or an immediate family member is or has.
Funding Amount: $75,000
Anticipated Number of Awards: Two
