Earning Recognitions for People Programs

SM Prime Holdings, Inc. (SM Prime), together with its subsidiaries SM Supermalls and SM Development Corporation (SMDC), proudly earned the distinction of being among the Philippines' Best Employer Brands for 2024 at the Philippines' Leadership Awards held on July 16, 2024 at the Dusit Thani Hotel, Makati. Adding to this achievement, SM Prime Group HR Heads were also honored with the following awards:

  • Cheryll Ruth L. Agsaoay (Senior Vice President for HR, SM Supermalls) - Exemplary HR Leadership Award and Top Most HR Leader Award
  • Maria Margarita C. Guevara (Vice President for HR, SM Prime) - Top Most HR Leader Award
  • Rhoneil E. Caimol (Vice President for HR, SMDC) - Top Most HR Leader Award

Enhancing the Employee Experience

In an industry where talent development and retention are paramount, the SM Prime Group is committed to creating an enriching work environment for its people. Through the SM LIFE (Life Integration for Employees) Program, the company provides tangible employee experiences anchored on Purpose, Performance, and Passion - the cornerstones that make-up the SM life. At its core, SM LIFE seamlessly integrates elements of health and wellness, career development, and employee engagement into its very fabric. Apart from the traditional employee benefits, the program provides employees various resources to help them physically, mentally, spiritually, and emotionally. Employees are also given access to online mental health counselling, wellness webinars, family-oriented activities, employee rewards and recognitions. One standout initiative is the SM LIFE mobile app, which is a tech support for enhancing the employee experience. A key feature of the app is the Kudos Cards wherein employees can send virtual appreciation cards to each other. To date, more than 97,000 cards have been exchanged, fostering a culture of gratitude among the employees.

Learning and Development programs have also played a pivotal role in transforming the employee experience. Leveraging technology, SM Prime partnered with LinkedIn Learning in 2023 for the SM Digi-U Program, an online learning tool that provides employees access to learning pathways to help expand their skills and competencies. Moreover, Coaching and Mentoring has also been an essential tool, providing substantial guidance to help employees contribute meaningfully to the company.

Through SM Prime Group's efforts to transform the employee experience, the company continues to forge a path in building a diverse, inclusive and collaborative workforce. In 2023, the company saw 100% reach in terms of engagement and training, and a consistent improvement on employee retention.

These recognitions are more meaningful as they align with SM Prime's 30th Anniversary, adding an extra layer of pride and festivity to the milestone year.
