Red Flag Warning in effect from 11 a.m. Nov. 4 to 7 a.m. Nov. 7

The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning to our area that will be in effect from 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4 to 7 a.m. Thursday Nov. 7 for strong offshore winds, low humidity and dry fuels across the interior Bay Area, San Francisco, the Peninsula Coast, Bay Shoreline and higher Central Coast terrain. Widespread northerly winds of 20-30 mph, with gusts up to 50 mph in higher areas, are expected to dry fuels ahead of Tuesday. Low overnight humidity and near-critical daytime humidity will persist through Thursday morning, with fire risks easing by Thursday afternoon as the system moves eastward.

San Mateo County is expecting the following weather conditions from Monday, Nov. 4 through Thursday, Nov. 7:

  • Red Flag Warning in effect 11 AM Tuesday - 7 AM Thursday
  • Beach Hazards Statement in effect through 7 PM Monday

Alameda County is under the projected scope of possible Public Safety Power Shutoffs, but San Mateo County remains outside of the scope at this time.
