King of Prussia, PA - The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that the bridge carrying Doe Run Road (Route 82) over Doe Run in West Marlborough Township, Chester County, was closed after a recent inspection determined significant deterioration to the steel beams and deck.
During the closure, Doe Run Road (Route 82) motorists will be directed to use Route 841 (Chatham Road) and Route 842 (Clonmell Upland Road). Local access will be maintained up to the closure.
The two-lane bridge will remain closed until PennDOT bridge engineers can determine the full extent of the damage and develop a plan to repair and reopen the structure.
Built in 1932, the 58-foot-long structure carries approximately 4,881 vehicles per day. The bridge was posted for 15 tons in March 2024.
