"Every year, I am continually impressed by the ingenuity and creativity demonstrated by the students in our district through the Congressional App Challenge," said Congressman Johnson. "I'm proud of all the students who participated, and I am excited to celebrate these students' hard work and look forward to seeing their future achievements."
The Congressional App Challenge was created to encourage students to explore STEM, coding, and computer science through hands-on learning. The challenge is designed to inspire, include, and innovate by actively engaging students from underrepresented communities in technology and providing them the platform to connect directly with policymakers. Each year, winners from across the nation have the opportunity to have their app displayed in the U.S. Capitol Building for one year.
The Congressional App Challenge was first launched in 2014 and has since reached over 40,000 students across all 50 states, with students submitting apps in a wide range of categories - from civic engagement to health and education. Congressman Johnson is proud to be part of this national effort to foster the next generation of tech leaders.
Students interested in participating in next year's competition can pre-register for the 2025 Congressional App Challenge in the coming weeks. For more information, visit Congressional App Challenge.
