Upcoming Holiday Events in Baytown

As the holiday season approaches, the City of Baytown is excited to announce a series of festive events spanning from Thanksgiving to Christmas. Although Treats on the Trail will not be offered this year, we invite you to join us for a variety of activities that will bring our community together in celebration and create lasting memories. These events embody the spirit of the season, and we look forward to celebrating with everyone.

EPIC! Spooktacular Trick-or-Treating

Join us for "EPIC! Spooktacular," an engaging event designed for children from preschool to elementary ages, taking place at the Eddie V. Gray Wetlands Center, located at 1724 Market Street. This event will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Activities include non-scary, indoor trick-or-treating and fun games with opportunities to win candy. The entry fee is five dollars per person, and tickets can be purchased online or at the door, with payment accepted in both cash and card.

This event serves as a fundraiser for "EPIC!", our service learning club, which stands for Environment Protectors Initiating Change! This free program for teens focuses on learning about and solving coastal environmental problems through hands-on projects, allowing high school students to earn service hours.

We look forward to welcoming our young ghouls and goblins for a delightful evening of fun and festivities, and we thank you for your support!

VFW's Veterans Day Ceremony

A Veterans Day Ceremony hosted by VFW Post 912 will be held on November 11, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial Plaza, located at 1001 Market Street in front of Bicentennial Park.

We invite the community to participate in this important tradition honoring those who have served in the armed forces. This day serves as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by our veterans and provides a valuable opportunity for us to express our gratitude and remembrance. By gathering to honor those who have selflessly defended our freedoms, we ensure that their service is never forgotten. Participating in these events not only pays tribute to their sacrifices but also strengthens our community bonds, allowing us to honor their legacy for generations to come.

In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be moved to the Baytown Community Center, located at 2407 Market Street.

Baytown's Turkey Trot 1K and 5K Run

The annual Turkey Trot is scheduled for Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Jenkins Park, located at 4334 Crosby Cedar Bayou Road. This year's event promises even more fun for the entire family, including a free petting zoo for race participants, featuring goats, rabbits, chickens, and pigs-perfect for capturing memorable selfies. The race will be timed, and all runners will receive a medal. The Kids 1K, open to ages 12 and under, will commence at 8:00 a.m., followed by the 5K for all ages at 9:00 a.m.

Additionally, our sponsor, Patients Emergency Room & Hospital, will provide a stylish fanny pack to the first 300 participants who sign up.

Get ready to "gobble" your way to fitness at this year's Turkey Trot-it's a fun run you won't want to miss!

Baytown's 76th Christmas Parade

The Baytown Christmas Parade is a cherished annual tradition celebrating its 76th year, uniting the entire community by bringing together businesses, schools, and organizations to kick off the Christmas season. This festive event takes place on the first Thursday in December each year in Historic Downtown Baytown at 213 West Texas Avenue. The 2024 Christmas Parade is scheduled for Thursday, December 5, beginning at 6:30 p.m. The lighting of the Town Square Christmas Tree marks the official start of the parade, which commences at Bicentennial Park, progresses near the Sterling Library, and loops back around Town Square. Each year, the parade features over 200 floats and vehicles, along with numerous marching bands and walking groups, culminating in a special appearance by Santa Claus.

The parade also marks the official opening of this year's Holiday Hangout, an exciting addition to the festive celebrations featuring miniature golf, yard games, and a variety of concessions, similar to previous years. Attendees can look forward to an expanded Glow Zone and the introduction of the Town Square Roller Rink. For our youngest guests, a dedicated toddler zone will be available to ensure that children of all ages can enjoy the festivities. Additionally, the Hangout can be rented for special occasions, providing a unique and entertaining venue for birthday parties and other celebrations.
