STATEMENT: Michigan Dems Chair Applauds State Legislature Primary Candidates

LANSING - Following the majority of the primary results, Chair of the Michigan Democratic Party Lavora Barnes released the following statement congratulating Democratic primary candidates:

"Congratulations to all of our state House candidates who are working to serve their communities and protect them from an extremist MAGA MIGOP that puts their agenda ahead of Michiganders time and time again.

"Our Democratic trifecta in Lansing has changed the lives of countless Michiganders, and this November, the state House is on the line. These seats will decide the future of reproductive care, unions, the environment, and so much more.

"Over the past year, MAGA MIGOP representatives have spouted hateful conspiracy theories, worked against Michigan's working families, and opposed Democrats' common-sense legislation at every turn. That kind of behavior has no place anywhere in the Michigan legislature, and I am fired up to win these seats and keep our state House majority."
