The University of Wyoming Art Museum's Ann Simpson Artmobile will debut its new exhibition, "Message Received: Transmissions Across Time & Space," Tuesday-Thursday, Sept. 10-12, at the Community Fine Arts Center in Rock Springs.

Part of the Sweetwater County Library System, the Community Fine Arts Center is located at 400 C St.

The exhibition, available for scheduling now through 2026, invites viewers to think deeply about our present relationship to the past and future. Seventeen works of art, including etchings, lithographs, photographs, mezzotints, woodblock prints and serigraphs, reveal diverse perspectives on space, technology, mythology and time travel -- where the past, present and future collide.

"Message Received: Transmissions Across Time & Space" encourages discussions of communication, cosmology, identity and place through a futurist lens. How does ancestral knowledge inform who we are and where we are headed, and what stories may future generations need to thrive? How has life in the future been imagined? What technologies may be necessary, and what will stand the test of time?

Guided, deep-looking sessions and art-making activities will be offered by Artmobile Educator Sarita Talusani Keller at each location the Artmobile visits through 2026. More information on specific program schedules can be found by contacting partnering organizations on the tour schedule.

"I am thrilled to share this exhibition with Rock Springs and Wyomingites across the state," Talusani Keller says. "I hope it sparks people's imaginations about Wyoming life -- light years into the future -- and leads to important conversations about what people value and what they hope for in the near future."

The exhibition and art-making activities are free and open to the public. For more information about the Artmobile at the Community Fine Arts Center, the Sweetwater County Library System or the programming schedule, call Debora Soulé, Community Fine Arts Center director, at (307) 362-6212 or email [email protected].
