On November 10, 2024, at approximately 9:10 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a residence in the 400 block of Augier Avenue for the report of an erratic male screaming outside.

Attending West District General Patrol officers were directed to a mobile home where they forced entry and located a 42-year-old adult male suffering from serious upper body injuries. The erratic male, believed to be involved in the incident, was also located within the residence and taken into custody without incident. The victim was transported to hospital in critical condition and has now been upgraded to stable condition.

Through their investigation, officers learned the victim and the suspect were present at the suspect's residence when, for unknown reasons, the suspect armed himself with a metal object and repeatedly assaulted the victim to the upper body, rendering him unconscious and causing serious injury.

The suspect and the victim were previously known to one another.

Cody Thomas GROSS, 39, of Winnipeg was charged with Aggravated Assault and detained in custody.
