Convocation and Cookout Welcomes New Students

LIVONIA, MICH. - Last week, Madonna University held a Convocation ceremony to officially welcome its newest class of students. The event took place in the Felician Sisters' Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Chapel, with administrators, trustees, faculty, staff, students, and parents in attendance.

St. Catherine Medal Winner Bella Burchart delivered the invocation, setting the tone for the ceremony. President Chris Dougherty, Professor Dennis Bozyk, Provost Deborah Dunn, and Vice President Chris Benson addressed the students, offering words of encouragement and advice as they embark on their college journey.

Sr. Nancy Marie Jamroz, co-director of the Center for Catholic Studies and Interfaith Dialogue, shared the history of the Felician Sisters of North America and how Madonna University was founded. She also blessed the students and their families.

Student Senate President Aaron Hunter encouraged students to get involved in campus life and to reach out to him if they needed anything. He assured them that they would be supported throughout their time at Madonna.

Following Convocation, everyone enjoyed a cookout near St. Francis Pond, providing an opportunity for students, faculty, staff, and and parents to socialize and celebrate the start of the new academic year.
