Festival of Lights Set for Dec. 6 at Waryas Park

The city will hold a "Festival of Lights" event on Friday night, Dec. 6, at Waryas Park featuring fireworks, a tree lighting ceremony at the John Flowers Circle, tree decorations along the waterfront, a visit by Santa Claus who will arrive by a fire truck, music performances by Poughkeepsie High School and Middle School students, free apple cider, hot chocolate, popcorn, and hot dogs for children provided by Bouncy Dreams and more.

The city thanks its main sponsor Central Hudson and is continuing to work on other details about the event. The city also greatly appreciates the Palombo Group for donating the tree at John Flowers Circle that will be lit for the holidays.

The festivities will begin at 5:30 p.m., with the tree lighting and fireworks set for approximately 7 p.m. We hope to see you there!
