  • Two months before the November 5 election, the issues that most concern Latinos continue to be inflation, employment and the economy, according to a new UnidosUS survey published this Wednesday.

  • More Latinos believe that Democrats would be better at addressing this issue than Republicans.

  • What do Latinos mean when they say inflation and the cost of living are important? Because food and basic expenses have increased a lot (78%); that buying or renting a home is too expensive (68%); that the price of gasoline is too high (63%); can't save money (47%); medications, doctor visits and health expenses have increased and are too high (38%); and because corporate greed increases costs beyond inflation (35%).

  • What worries Hispanics most about employment is that their job does not pay enough and they must take other jobs to make ends meet. They are worried about being fired or having their hours cut, that their job does not give them benefits such as sick leave. medical pay or retirement, or having to work more because the company is not hiring enough employees.

  • Regarding housing, the majority of Latinos are concerned about the shortage of affordable housing (62%) and that rent is too expensive and "I should move to a more affordable place."

DCCC Spokesperson Jose Muñoz:
"Many Latinos are very concerned about having a good paying job to be able to live a life with dignity. That's why House Democrats are focused on reducing the cost of living, prescription drug prices, and spending on basic needs. On the contrary, Republicans are more focused on tax cuts for large corporations and their rich friends."
