UW’s Wyoming SBDC Network to Participate in NSF Proposal Lab Aug. 8

Small-business owners and researchers will have the opportunity to submit Phase 1 proposals during the National Science Foundation (NSF) SBIR/STTR Proposal Lab Thursday, Aug. 8.

The Wyoming Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network, the Montana Innovation Partnership and the New Mexico Federal and State Technology partnership program will participate in the online training event from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m.

The Wyoming SBDC Network offers business expertise to help Wyoming residents think about, launch, grow, reinvent or exit their business. The Wyoming SBDC Network is hosted by the University of Wyoming with state funds from the Wyoming Business Council and funded, in part, through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration.

The NSF Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR)/Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Proposal Lab will cover all components of a full proposal package, and each state will provide one-on-one, follow-up sessions for proposal review for its respective clients. Small businesses will be evaluated based on state residency, technology/team fit for NSF and project pitch status.

Attendees also will learn about changes to NSF requirements that were released with the new SBIR/STTR solicitation. Ben Schrag, SBIR/STTR program director and policy liaison at NSF, will provide insight on navigating the new changes and the NSF review process to kick off the event.

To join the Wyoming SBDC Network cohort, those interested should email copies of their NSF project pitches, along with confirmation of their invitations from NSF, to Kelly Haigler-Cornish at [email protected].
