A place that celebrates art and memory, retracing the history and legends of the House, La Galerie Diorat 30 Montaigne is hosting a unique exhibition in tribute to one of the greatest photographers of his time, Peter Lindbergh (1944-2019).
Conceived with exceptional support from the Peter Lindbergh Foundation, the event features a hundred of the photographer's shots of Dior Models taken between 1988 and 2018. A fabulous odyssey unfolds from one room to the next, weaving a captivating dialogue with the House's creations, from Christian Dior to Maria Grazia Chiuri, spanning Yves Saint Laurent, Marc Bohan, Gianfranco Ferré, John Galliano and Raf Simons.
Ten distinct spaces reveal photos from legendary series, notably those shot for Vogue and Harper's Bazaar, as well as previously unseen contact sheets and work prints. Also showcased is an exclusive project dreamed up specially for the House: an extraordinary shoot done on the streets of New York in October 2018, with pictures never before displayed in public.
This marvelous retrospective of Peter Lindbergh's work for Dior shines a light on deep affinities that unite the House and the photographer, namely their commitment to celebrating the singular allure of women.
