Cozen O’Connor Expands its IP Footprint in Texas, Adding Litigator Bradley D. Liddle to its Dallas Office

DALLAS, July 30, 2024 - In a move that further expands its IP litigation capabilities in Texas - one of the country's busiest patent litigation venues - Cozen O'Connor today announced international IP litigator and strategist Bradley D. Liddle has joined its award- winning Intellectual Property Department. Liddle brings to the firm substantial experience handling patent disputes in the Eastern and Western Districts of Texas, two of the most active patent litigation dockets in the country. He joins Cozen O'Connor as a member and will work out of its Dallas office.

Recognized by IAM Strategy 300 as one of the world's leading IP strategists, Liddle comes to the firm from Carter Arnett and brings nearly two decades of patent litigation experience, advising and representing clients in a range of major disputes, including many before the USPTO's Patent Trial and Appeal Board. His Texas-based track record includes handling matters related to patent, commercial and trade secrets litigation, trademark opposition and infringement, inter-partes review proceedings, and post grant reviews over covered business method patents.

A former aerospace engineer with Boeing, he also brings a deep, technical understanding of numerous technology-related areas of patent litigation, including 3GPP standards for cellular telecommunications, SEPs, LED and Semiconductor fabrication and design.

Liddle's practice also includes advising on patent licensing, portfolio mining, patent value assessments, and evaluating infringement allegations. A frequent adviser on patent portfolio acquisitions, he is often engaged by financial entities to help identify and assess potential intellectual property investments.

Liddle started his legal career at a patent litigation boutique in Houston, where he handled patent infringement cases spanning a wide range of technologies. He subsequently ran a multimillion-dollar patent licensing company that successfully licensed dozens of companies to its patent portfolio. Prior to going into law, he earned a degree in aerospace engineering and was an engineer at Boeing, working on NASA's International Space Station program.

Liddle earned his J.D. at Texas A&M University School of Law, and his B.S. in aerospace engineering from Texas A&M University.
