RCS as the Successor to SMS
RCS is a communication protocol that, unlike traditional SMS, enables enriched messages. Businesses and governments can use RCS to send messages that include images, videos, documents and other interactive elements. Previously, such messages could only be sent through third-party apps such as WhatsApp, but with RCS, they can now be offered directly through telecom providers.
Reliability and Security
In countries such as Germany, France, Spain and England, all telecom providers support RCS, while in the Netherlands discussions are still ongoing. In countries where providers already offer RCS, CM.com can deploy this technology to a broad range of customers.
"With RCS, companies such as dental practices and government agencies can personalize reminder messages and add functionalities, such as a calendar invitation, a link to Google Maps or a secure payment link. This gives a huge improvement in reliability and security, as these messages are verified and delivered securely through telecom providers."
Protection Against Fraud and Cybercrime
Smishing attacks are on the rise, making most customers wary of text messages they receive. It can be difficult for consumers to determine which messages are spam and which are legitimate. With a verified RCS sender profile, recipients can recognize a business account. As a result, recipients are more likely to open and trust the message, which makes for better customer contact.
