Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 1175 Edgebrook Drive

July 29, 2024- Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 1175 Edgebrook Drive about 12:25 a.m. on Sunday (July 28).

The suspect, Julian Giovanni Vazquez, 24, is charged with murder in the 209th State District Court. A booking photo of Vazquez is attached to this news release.

The identity of the victim, 38, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. LaFour and Detective B. Stephens reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a request for assistance from Houston Fire Department emergency personnel at a parking lot at the above address. Paramedics found an unresponsive man in the front passenger seat of a vehicle. He had suffered a gunshot wound and was pronounced deceased.

A male, identified as Vazquez, was detained at the scene. Vazquez told investigators he was with the victim and admitted to his role in the shooting. The Harris County District Attorney's Office was contacted and Vasquez was subsequently charged and booked into the Harris County Jail.
