London South Bank University (LSBU) is one of the top five risers in the latest Guardian University Guide 2025 league table, announced on 7 September.

We've leapt up the table by 22 places to 59th place nationally, from 81st position last year.

We're also acknowledged as one of the leading modern universities in London, where we rank fourth.

The annual league table includes data on student satisfaction and career outcomes, two areas which have seen further success for LSBU.

Additionally, our degree programmes in the following subjects made the top 10 in the UK:

• Forensic Science (3rd)
• Economics (6th)
• Mental Health Nursing (6th)

A further five of our subjects made the top 20: Nutrition and Food Science (13th), Media and Film Studies (15th), General Nursing (16th), Mechanical Engineering (16th), and Chemical Engineering (18th).

Professor David Phoenix, LSBU's Vice-Chancellor, said: "This is excellent news and reaffirms our commitment to providing our students with an outstanding experience while they're at LSBU, coupled with degree programmes that are industry-relevant and set our students up for career success when they graduate. We look forward to building further on this great work."

The news is the latest in a series of accolades for LSBU, which was this month named Daily Mail University of the Year for Social Inclusion 2025 "for its stellar record in breaking down the barriers to higher education". The Daily Mail ranked our biomedical sciences first in the country, and placed LSBU top of London's modern universities.

Earlier this year, the Times Higher Education impact rankings named us as top three in the world for reducing inequality.

Our graduates are also on average the highest paid of all modern universities in London, one year, three years and five years after graduating, according to Government data.
