Welcome to the LBPD Blotter!

As part of our ongoing commitment to external communications and providing valuable information to our community, the Department posts preliminary information about incidents that occurred the previous evening, including shootings and stabbings, as well as any other LBPD updates to the Department's homepage and on the "News" tab of the Department's website. This page will be updated as new incidents occur.

Here's a recap of incidents occurring last night:

  • Murder - 2600 Block of East Ocean Boulevard - On Nov. 24, 2024 at approximately 1:54 a.m., officers responded to the 2600 block of East Ocean Boulevard regarding an unknown trouble call. Upon arrival, officers located a male adult victim with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds to the upper body. Long Beach Fire Department personnel transported him to a local hospital. During their investigation, officers located a second male victim with a gunshot wound to the upper body nearby. Officers performed life-saving measures until being relieved by LBFD personnel who determined the victim deceased at the scene. Homicide detectives are investigating this incident and news release is forthcoming.
Great work officers! Last night, officers safely took two guns off the streets.
  • On Nov. 23, 2024 at approximately 7:58 p.m., officers responded to the 600 block of Obispo Avenue regarding a burglary. Upon arrival, officers located the suspect near the area. During their investigation, officers recovered a firearm. The suspect was arrested. The investigation is ongoing.
  • On Nov. 23, 2024 at approximately 7:48 p.m., officers responded to the 2100 block of Daisy Avenue regarding a stolen vehicle report, later determined to be an armed carjacking. Assisting officers located the vehicle which was occupied. After a brief pursuit, officers took a suspect into custody. The remaining occupants fled the scene. During their investigation, officers recovered a firearm. The investigation is ongoing.
