Congressman Cohen Announces $1.1 Million Cancer Research Grant to St. Jude

MEMPHIS - Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9) today announced that St. Jude Children's Research Hospital will receive an "Outstanding Investigator" grant of $1,110,000 from the National Cancer Institute for research into the mechanism of regulated cell death under the direction of Dr. Douglas R. Green, who holds the Peter C. Doherty Endowed Chair of Immunology at the hospital.

Congressman Cohen made the following statement:

"I congratulate St. Jude and Dr. Green on this significant grant award and for the work they are doing improving outcomes and saving lives. I am always pleased to see one of our National Institutes of Health investing in the ongoing work of our premier children's research hospital."
