Cheney-Spokane Rd. Prepares for Final Paving
Retail area remains accessible and full reopening set for Oct. 18th.

As the Marshall Rd. Water Transmission Main project to support water capacity improvements is nearing completion in the Latah Valley area, Cheney-Spokane Rd. will experience intermittent access between the south end of the retail area to S. Cedar Rd. temporarily over the next week as crews prepare for and pave the section of roadway. The entire section of Cheney-Spokane Rd. between US 195 and S. Cedar Rd. is scheduled to fully reopen Friday, Oct. 18th.
Cheney-Spokane Rd. closed at S. 4300 block (south end of retail area) to Qualchan Dr. intermittently Oct. 11th - 17th.
What to Expect
Friday, Oct. 11th:
- Cheney-Spokane Rd. just south of the retail area to S. Qualchan Rd. will have one lane of traffic with flaggers between 7 and 9 a.m. Impacted neighborhoods include Eagle Ridge and Qualchan area.
- Cheney-Spokane Rd. will then close between the retail area and Qualchan Dr. starting at 9 a.m. and ending at 4 pm.
- Cheney-Spokane Rd. between the retail area and Qualchan Dr. will open back up for one lane of traffic in each direction at 4 p.m.
- Cheney-Spokane Rd. between Qualchan Dr. and S. Cedar Rd. will remain closed.
- Lane and speed reductions will be in place for northbound and southbound US 195 near the Meadow Lane Rd. intersection.
- BUSINESSES are OPEN and ACCESSIBLE from the Cheney-Spokane Rd. interchange.
Saturday, Oct. 12th:
- Cheney-Spokane Rd. closure continues just south of the retail area and continues to S. Cedar Rd. This includes access to Qualchan Dr. Impacted neighborhoods include Eagle Ridge and Qualchan area. Detours will be in place.*
- Cheney-Spokane Rd. will open between the retail area and Qualchan Dr. at approximately 4 p.m. with one lane in each direction.
- Cheney-Spokane Rd. will remain closed between Qualchan Dr. and S. Cedar Rd.
- Lane and speed reductions will be in place for northbound and southbound US 195 near the Meadow Lane Rd. intersection.
- BUSINESSES are OPEN and ACCESSIBLE from the Cheney-Spokane Rd. interchange.
Sunday, Oct. 13th:
- Cheney-Spokane Rd. will remain open with one lane in each direction between the retail area and Qualchan Dr.
- Cheney-Spokane Rd. will remain closed between Qualchan Dr. and S. Cedar Rd.
- Lane and speed reductions will be in place for northbound and southbound US 195 near the Meadow Lane Rd. intersection.
- BUSINESSES are OPEN and ACCESSIBLE from the Cheney-Spokane Rd. interchange.
Monday, Oct. 14th:
- Cheney-Spokane Rd. will remain open with one lane in each direction between the retail area and Qualchan Dr.
- Cheney-Spokane Rd. will remain closed between Qualchan Dr. and S. Cedar Rd.
- WSDOT will be paving US 195 near Meadow Lane Rd. intersection.
- BUSINESSES are OPEN and ACCESSIBLE from the Cheney-Spokane Rd. interchange.
Tuesday, Oct. 15th:
- Cheney-Spokane Rd. will have one lane of traffic with flaggers Tuesday morning from 7 to 9 a.m., between retail area and Qualchan Dr.
- Cheney-Spokane Rd. complete closure begins at 9 a.m. just south of the retail area and continues to S. Cedar Rd. Impacted neighborhoods include Eagle Ridge and Qualchan area. This includes access to Qualchan Dr. at Cheney-Spokane Rd. Detours will be in place.*
- Lane and speed reductions will be in place for northbound and southbound US 195 near the Meadow Lane Rd. intersection.
- BUSINESSES are OPEN and ACCESSIBLE from the Cheney-Spokane Rd. interchange.
Wednesday, Oct. 16th:
- Cheney-Spokane Rd. complete closure just south of the retail area and continues to S. Cedar Rd. Impacted neighborhoods include Eagle Ridge and Qualchan area. Detours will be in place.*
- Lane and speed reductions will be in place for northbound and southbound US 195 near the Meadow Lane Rd. intersection.

Thursday, Oct. 17th:
- Cheney-Spokane Rd. will be open between retail area and Qualchan Dr.
- Cheney-Spokane Rd. remains closed between Qualchan Dr. and S. Cedar Rd.
- Lane and speed reductions will be in place for northbound and southbound US 195 near the Meadow Lane Rd. intersection.
- BUSINESSES are OPEN and ACCESSIBLE from the Cheney-Spokane Rd. interchange.
Friday, Oct. 18th:
- Cheney-Spokane Rd. OPEN between retail area and S. Cedar Rd.
- Lane and speed reductions REMOVED for northbound and southbound US 195 near the Meadow Lane Rd. intersection.
- BUSINESSES are OPEN and ACCESSIBLE from the Cheney-Spokane Rd. interchange.
