Hello snow! The white stuff has arrived and City crews are busy clearing and sanding roads in priority sequence in the community.
With this first snowfall of the season, here are some tips and reminders about snow removal in Spruce Grove:
-
Know where to go when it snows! Information about the City's snow and ice control program is available online. This includes information about priority levels, maps, progress charts and other related details.
-
In instances when snow routes, City Centre snow removal, or residential snow removal are scheduled, information will be posted on the City's website and Facebook page, and signage will also be placed along those impacted streets to provide residents with advance notice to move their vehicles.
-
Be a good neighbour and clear your sidewalks! Residents can help themselves to free sand (for residential use only) located in a bin at the City's Public Works building, located at 21 Century Close. Please bring your own bucket and self-serve. The bin will remain on-site throughout the winter season. Learn more about what you can do to stay safe and keep things moving.

A reminder that if you have a driveway aid (also called a curb ramp), it needs to be removed from the street between November 1 and April 30 each year. They can freeze to the road surface and get caught up in snow removal equipment causing costly repairs and delays for snow removal.
