Tuesday: Planning Commission to consider recommendations for short term rentals
The Planning Commission on Aug. 13 is set to review proposed short term rental regulations and consider whether to recommend them for approval to the City Council next month.
The regulations would be enacted through amendments to the Del Mar Municipal Code and Local Coastal Program.
Staff also is requesting that commissioners confirm that the regulations are exempt from further environmental review because there is no potential for significant impacts.
Del Mar's yearlong process to set policy for short term rentals has included multiple meetings and detailed analyses by staff, counsel and a consultant.
Introduction of an ordinance to the City Council is tentatively scheduled for Sept. 23.
The Planning Commission meeting begins at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, at the Del Mar Civic Center Town Hall, 1050 Camino Del Mar.
The short term rental item is scheduled to be heard at 6 p.m. or as soon as possible thereafter.
