Statewide - Notice of Adoption to amend 6 NYCRR Part 40 Marine Fish (Cobia)

Public Notice

Pursuant to the Environmental Conservation Law sections 13-0105, 13-0371 and 13-0335, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC) hereby gives notice of the following:

NYS DEC - Division of Marine Resources (DMR) is filing a Notice of Adoption to amend 6 NYCRR Part 40 Marine Fish (Cobia).

A Notice of Proposed Rulemaking with the same text was published in the March 13, 2024, NY State Register.

The rule allows New York to close the commercial Cobia fishery by written notice to license holders should the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission (ASMFC) determine that the coastwide commercial Cobia harvest quota has been reached.

This notice will be published in issue 26 of the State Register, dated June 26, 2024.
