Gulf Islands National Seashore closes Fort Pickens in preparation for Tropical Storm Francine

GULF BREEZE, Fla. - Gulf Islands National Seashore will close the Fort Pickens Area immediately beginning September 10 in preparation for Tropical Storm Francine.

Campers at the Fort Pickens Campground will need to evacuate by noon on September 10.

The rest of the Florida District Areas will remain open for day use.

The Fort Pickens Area is closed until further notice. Park staff will assess conditions on September 12. For more information, please follow the park's social media accounts and website.
