State Police arrested a Cohoes man on sexual assault charges

On August 26, 2024, New York State Police announce the arrest of Benjamin Randall, age 22 of Cohoes, New York. Randall was charged with Rape 3rd degree and Criminal Sex Act 3rd degree.

On April 28, 2024, state police received a complaint from a 16-year-old that she met Randall on a social media site on March 21, 2024. After speaking online for several weeks, she agreed to meet with Randall after school. Randall picked her up and drove to a secluded area where he sexually assaulted the victim. He then drove her back to the school and dropped her off.

On August 26, 2024, Randall was arrested at the state police barracks in Ellenville and was arraigned in the Town of Marbletown Court in front of Judge Claudia Davenport. Bail was set at $10,000 bail/$10,000bond/$10,000 secured bond. A stay away order of protection was issued for the victim.
