Broadway Construction Update

Construction is in progress and traffic is currently one-way on Broadway from Stebbins to Western. The outbound driving lane and sidewalk have been fully removed and a single lane inbound remains open.

Some residential intersections are closed from both directions, including Harding Drive, Thayer Street, Orchard Street, Prouty Avenue, Colburn Street, Langdon Street, Walbridge Avenue, Field Avenue, Western Avenue.

Businesses in the construction area remain open and the contractor will maintain access to all parking lots and driveways throughout the project. Businesses without their own lots will have smooth dirt/stone paths to their entrances for pedestrian access.

Street parking on Broadway from Stebbins to Western is not allowed during construction hours 6 a.m. - 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Alternate street parking locations are available on Field Ave, Crittenden, and Western (North and South of Broadway).

Bus stops on the outbound side of Broadway from Stebbins to Western are temporarily unavailable. These include Broadway and Crittenden NE and Broadway and Knower NW. Stops on the inbound lanes will remain open.

The traffic pattern and detours will change once construction in the outbound lanes is complete, sometime early this fall. Traffic will be switched to the outbound lanes while work on the inbound lanes occurs. This will remove sidewalk and close bus stops on the inbound lanes.
