PennDOT Announces Start Date for Bellefonte Streetscape Project

​Clearfield, PA - The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that work on a streetscape project impacting Route 144 and Spring Street in Bellefonte Borough will start Tuesday, Sept. 3. This project will improve concrete sidewalks, driveways, and curbing along almost 600 feet of Route 144 and Spring Street within the municipal boundaries.

The contractor will reduce traffic to one lane along Route 144 while completing this work. Drivers should also expect to encounter flaggers in the roadway on Spring Street for the duration of the project. Additionally, there will be instances where the shoulders and sidewalks are closed along with restrictions to on street parking.

This is a municipal project with PennDOT oversight. Big Rock Paving, LLC. of Muncy, PA, is the contractor on this $316,000 contract. PennDOT anticipates project completion in early November. All work is weather and schedule dependent.
