Governor Polis Celebrates Colorado, Welcomes Visitors to the Denver Zoo, Promotes Colorado Small Businesses

DENVER - Today to Celebrate Colorado, Governor Polis welcomed visitors to the Denver Zoo Conservation Alliance and visited local, small businesses to highlight the important role they play in driving Colorado's economy.

"Celebrate Colorado is an opportunity to come together and recognize some of the amazing and fun things our great state has to offer. There is no better place to Celebrate Colorado than the Denver Zoo, where families can see the world's most treasured animals while learning about the critical conservation efforts Colorado and the Zoo are making to protect animals and their habitats. Every day until August 4th, Coloradans can take advantage of 50% discounted entrance fees after 2:00 PM to Celebrate Colorado," said Governor Polis.

From July 26th through August 4th, entrance fees are discounted by 50% after 2 pm for Celebrate Colorado.

Later this afternoon, the Governor will tour the recent improvements to Union Station and visit with the owners of Eat Ya Pizza, a new restaurant on the 16th Street Mall, and Peek-a-Boo Toys, a Breckenridge-based toy company with a storefront in McGregor Square. Governor Polis will meet with these business owners to discuss the role of small businesses in driving Colorado's economy and strengthening Colorado communities.

"Improvements to Union Station and 16th Street Mall are examples of how investing in walkability and gathering spaces can drive economic growth. I am excited to see how these improvements will support small businesses and create new jobs. In Colorado, we are continuing to prove that investing in our downtowns is good for people and business," said Governor Polis.
