Idaho Early Years Conference: Apply for funding assistance

Registration will open September 2 for the biennial Idaho Early Years Conference, coming up Nov. 14 and 15. The conference is hosted by the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare's Head Start Collaboration Office.

The ICfL will offer support for approximately 30 Idaho library staff to attend. If you are interested in attending the conference with ICfL support, please complete the form below. If approved, you will receive a special registration code.

There are two types of support available:

Option A: Registration and Lodging

You must submit a request form by September 28, 2024.

ICfL pays Early Bird Registration Fee, $150.

ICfL pays for lodging as eligible according to distance traveled and safe travel times (see ICfL Non-Employee Travel Guidelines).

Mileage will not be reimbursed. Meals are not reimbursed (breakfast and lunch are provided both conference days).

The number of scholarships for this conference is limited and applications will be approved on a first-come first-served basis. Participants will also be required to fill out a short evaluation after the conference.

Option B: First-Time Conference Attendance CE Grant

You must submit a request form by September 28, 2024.*

ICfL provides Continuing Education (CE) grants to library staff to attend a library-related conference for the first time. The Early Years Conference meets this requirement. To apply for one of these grants, applicants must:
1. Live at least 50 miles from the site of the conference (Boise);
2. Have travel, registration and hotel costs of at least $250 (max grant amount is $900);
3. Agree to submit to a one-month and a six-month follow-up report to ICfL.

Option B/First-Time Conference Attendance CE Grant is a reimbursement grant. Grant funds will be reimbursed for allowable travel expenses when the one-month follow up report is submitted. Applicants are responsible for their own registration, travel and hotel arrangements. To apply for a First-Time Attendance Grant, you will first consult with Annie Gaines and she will review the process and requirements with you. Submit the request form to initiate this process.

*The process of receiving approval for CE funds can take up to 20 days. The Early Bird registration cost of $150 expires September 30. If you apply for funds after September 6, you should budget for a registration cost of $200.

Please submit your request forms ASAP!

Registration will open September 2. DO NOT REGISTER FOR THE CONFERENCE DIRECTLY IF YOU WISH TO RECEIVE ASSISTANCE FROM ICFL.
