Work includes roadway milling and paving, adding a center turn lane between Brookdale/South Fifth Street and Wyoming Street, adding a right turn lane from northbound South Fourth Street onto West Emmaus Avenue, adding a left turn lane from West Susquehanna Street onto southbound South Fourth Street, intersection radius improvements at South Fourth and Brookdale/South Fifth streets, constructing Americans with Disability Act (ADA) compliant curb ramps, traffic signal upgrades, drainage improvements, and new pavement markings.

Kriger Construction, Inc. of Scranton, PA is the general contractor on the $7,368,850 project, which is expected to be complete in October 2026.

This section of Route 145/South Fourth Street has an average daily traffic volume of 19,582 vehicles.
