TUESDAY Oct. 8: IMPORTANT WEATHER UPDATE

The safety of the university community is our priority.

In anticipation of Hurricane Milton, all operations and classes including online courses are suspended as of Noon, Tuesday, October 8 through Thursday, October 10. Normal operations will resume 8:30 a.m., Friday, October 11. All academic assignments and exams, including classes with online components are also suspended while the university is closed.

FMU housing will remain open.

The parking lot near Lehman and LLC 1-4 will be closed today effective at 10 a.m.

All vehicles with current year decals and properly registered vehicles must park near the university chiller plant found behind the administrative building.

Do not park in the covered administrative parking area behind the library or in the parking lot between the FMU Facilities Building and the Sarah Blocker Building.

Please be sure to lock your doors and roll up your windows.

Dining services will adjust its hours to the following:

  • Tuesday, October 8: Dinner will be served between 4:00- 6:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday, October 9: Brunch will be served between 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., dinner will be served from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, October 10: Brunch will be served between 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., dinner will be served from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Florida Memorial University held an emergency planning meeting and is closely monitoring Hurricane Milton.

If flooding and access to the campus becomes an issue, we will use the southwest gate near the Band Room and the northwest gate near the Wellness Center to access the campus.
